Colleen Konetzke, Stephanie Volk, and David Perretz expand investing and operations teams; bring unique expertise to further digital industrial innovation
AUSTIN, TX – Ironspring Ventures is excited to announce three new additions to the team, growing its capabilities in both investing and operations. These accomplished individuals will accelerate efforts to identify and support world-class founders and companies who are revolutionizing the way we design, build, distribute, and operate in the physical world as well as augment firm operations. Ironspring is pleased to begin 2023 with a bigger, stronger team and looks forward to increasing its impact in digital industrial innovation in the year ahead.

About Colleen, Stephanie, and David:
As a member of the investment team, Colleen will focus on digital industrial investments, particularly in energy and sustainability, leveraging her significant experience working on energy transition before and during her MBA at Kellogg. Her past work has spanned the whole energy supply chain, from renewable energy development strategy, to reliability improvement and distribution investment planning, and to generation fleet transition to more sustainable energy sources.
Prior to Ironspring, Colleen spent several years in management consulting at Bain & Company, specializing in public utilities. She has also completed internships at Edison International and G2 Venture Partners (in addition to Ironspring). Colleen graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Accounting and a Master of Finance degree and recently completed her MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is based in Austin, TX.
Stephanie will lead Ironspring’s portfolio support program, connecting founders and teams to resources, relationships, and tools to accelerate growth. She’ll also oversee efforts to expand the firm’s network and strengthen the Ironspring Ventures brand.
With experience across public, private, and non-profit organizations, Stephanie has depth in the venture industry from her time at GE Ventures in platform and commercial development and most recently at the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) leading industry relations and partnerships. She graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science and from the University of Michigan with an MBA and Master of Urban Planning degree. She is based in San Francisco, CA.
David will serve as Ironspring’s finance leader, managing fund accounting and operations as well as portfolio construction. He will support the firm on a part time basis while continuing to run The Fund CXO, his consulting firm advising emerging fund managers on financial operations.
An army veteran, David has impressive experience in asset management and startup leadership, with specific expertise in helping emerging VC managers professionalize their operations, including improving financial modeling, establishing KPIs and goals, and driving high-value strategy in early-stage companies. David graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in International Relations and Affairs and the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School with an MBA. He is based in Washington, DC.
